Andersen Family Reunion August 1-3, 2007

WE had a great time at the Andersen Family Reunion at the Sun Over P Ranch in Rupert Idaho. It sits right on the River with a water slide that shoots directly into the river. Kyle must have gone down that slide 200 times. Rachel went down a lot too after she got brave enough to try the first time. Kaitlyn went down 2 times starting half way up and Hannah went down once starting almost halfway up. Trevor went down once with Uncle Boo and Garrick at the bottom to keep him above water.

Of course Garrick went down the slide and even I went down once or twice.

Scouts at Lowes Building Workshop July 28, 2007

I took my scouts to Lowes for the free kid's workshop. They made tool boxes and got to take the aprons and safety glasses home. The kits are neat because they have predrilled holes to make it easy for kids to hammer in the nails. Last SAturday, we took our scouts bakc to make bird feeders. Lowes does these workshops on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month. Check it out!

Trevor gets tubes in his ears. July 25, 2007

Trevor had at least 5 ear infections between January and july of this year. THey never really semmed to clear up and always seemed to hurt him. Finally we got tubes put in his ears. We had to be at the hospital at 6:30 a.m., but he was happy as could be. He found all sorts of things to explore before the surgery. The surgery went well, but it is was tramatic for about 45 minutes while he screamed and screamed when they brought him back to me. WHen he finally came out of the anestesia, he was fine. He slept all the way home and for 2 or 3 hours after we got home. THat day we decided he was a much happier boy. Kaitlyn especially kept saying. "Mom, don't you think Trevor seems so much happier!" He slept through the night that night and for most nights since then!

Cove Ward 24th of July Celebration 2007

Our big celebration in Cove is on the 24th of July. We had a breakfast that morning followed by a flag ceremony and patriotic program then a little parade. Then there were bike races for the kids. They also had a treasure find in the sand and a watermelon eating contest that Trevor thoroughly enjoyed. That night they had dinner and a talent program. All in all a very fun day!

Somehow Kaitlyn got a ride on Boss Anderson's little pony.

Trevor, Hannah, and Kaitlyn love the merry-go-round at our church.

Hike at Willow Flats July 17, 2007

While Joelle was at our house this summer, Rachel wanted to take her to Willow Flats to hike to the spring.

Garrick and Kyle hiked up above the springs to the top of this rocky ridge.

Grandpa whittled a stick. Kaitlyn, Kyle, and Rachel tried to learn how.

On the way back down Kaitlyn fell down and scraped her knee. She wouldn't let anyone carry her except her mom. So I carried her for what seemed like forever until we got to the bridge and she let me set her down for the picture. Kaitlyn, Hannah, Joelle, Rachel, Kyle, and Grandma and Grandpa looking on.

After the hike we ate sandwiches and fruit and chips. Then we had "Better Than Anything Cake" to celebrate Rachel's birthday while Joelle was still here.
