Rachel and the Dairy Ambassadors at the RIchmond Black and White Days Junior Show Tuesday May 13, 2008

Rachel got to hand out ribbons and prizes at the show. She had a great time, and it was even fun for me to see some people that I hadn't seen for a long time. It brought back memories of when we used to show cows when I was a girl. I guess i really liked it, but I can't decide if it is worth all the work. I think Rachel and Kyle will start showing for 4-H next year. This year we will be at Brandon and Lindsay's wedding during out County Fair.

They got matching shirts, but Rachel's is rather big because this is an adult XS shirt. That was the only way they could find shirts to match and fit all the girls. They look great anyway.

Rachel wanted to give the ribbon to Bennett Gibbons. He is Ron and Andrea Gibbon's (good friends from Farm Bureau) son from Ogden. Bennett is one of the nicest 10 year old boys I have ever met. HE was so nice to come up and talk to Hannah and Trevor while I was talking to his dad. He was also very nice to talk to Rachel, and they acted like they were long lost friends. Just a very pleasant kid! It was very fun to see them.

Mother's Day

Kaitlyn's Dance Recital

Well, my camera wasn't working the night of the recital, but Emily did do Kaitlyn's hair and makeup and took a picture. She looked gorgeous. We did get video of her dances, and we tried to fix her hair again on Sunday. We did get pictures that day.

Trevor Outside where he wants to be - May 2, 2008

Trevor loves to be outside. The very sporadic warm days have teased him enough to make him very upset on the cold days when I don't let him play outside. He loves to play in the sand box. He also loves to ride in the tractor with Garrick. Garrick has been hauling manure on any day that has been dry. Trevor rides with him, but does not usually last for more than one load without falling asleep.

I was just discussing with Garrick last night if he remembers any of our other children being so attached to him. Trevor does not let go of Garrick ever. I know all the kids went through stages when they wanted to go with Garrick to the barn, but no one has been so attached even when Garrick is home. I quite enjoy watching Trevor hang onto Garrick's leg until he picks him up, and then wrap his arms around Garrick's neck and lay his head on his shoulder.

Kaitlyn Runs in AR Parade

Kaitlyn has been working hard to get to 60 AR points. When Rachel and Kyle ran in the parade a couple of months ago, Kaitlyn became very determined to get to 60. At the time she was at about 30 points. We enlisted the help of Grandma. Kaitlyn would go to CeCille's house after school several days a week to read in the peace and quiet of Grandma's house. She has improved in her reading so much!! In the end we were all working so hard to get her to 60- she was at about 50 on Monday and got to 60 on Friday. Just in the nick of time. Thanks to Emily, Grandma, Rachel, Kyle, and Mrs. Gerber!!

Hayden, Kaitlyn, and Bryce waiting to run in the parade.
