Rachel participated in the Cache County 4-H Dairy Ambassador contest. There were about 20 girls that competed, and Rachel was one of six who were chosen to represent Cache County 4-H and the Dairy Industry. She had an interview where the judges asked her questions about dairy and 4-H. She also had to perform a short jingle. She used Katie's famous MILK cheer "Don't give me no pop, no pop. Don't give me no juice, no juice. Just give me that Milk. Moo, moo, moo, moo." Rachel is sure that is what won it for her. She said the judges just laughed and laughed. Anyway, she was very excited about the tiara and the sash. She was feeling like a real princess and didn't want to take the tiara off for a couple of days.
I will admit I didn't know exactly what I was getting myself into, when I signed her up for this. You see, after the girls get their tiara and sash, the parents get an envelope informing them that they are now the committee that will plan and execute all the activities for the ambassadors throughout the year. Rachel will be riding on a float in 8-10 parades this summer. She will also be handing out ribbons at Black and White days and the county fair. At the Gossner Classic (The USU Basketball Tournament) she will go throw prizes out into the crowd. She will also be doing some educational things throughout the year. She is so excited!
