The kids were out of school that Friday, so we got tickets on-line and went to the temple. My kids have been able to go to the
Rexburg and Twin Falls Temple Open Houses, but Garrick was not able to come with us either of those times. It was great to all be there as a family.
OK to be completely honest - it was not the most spiritual experience of our lives. On the way there Trevor threw up in the car (the reason he is not wearing his church clothes). Then Garrick's foot and knee were hurting him, so I tried to hold Trevor most of the time. I let him down to walk up the stairs, and then I was answering one of Rachel's questions while Trevor took off. Garrick went to grab him, and stepped off the step wrong and twisted his ankle. Needless to say Garrick was not very happy with me for letting Trevor run loose. I do think the spirit returned though when we were in the Sealing Rooms and a man bore testimony of eternal families. We were able to look into the mirrors and see our family go on forever.
Garrick's mom and sister came with her two girls Aspen and Emma.
We are so blessed to have so many temples close by. At Stake Conference Our Stake President told us we have 17 temples close enough that we could drive to them, go through a session, and drive back home to sleep on our own bed that night. He asked what we will
sacrifice to make it to the temple more often.
