Hanging out with the girls

Tonight Garrick and Kyle went to the Jazz game. (I just watched the end and the Jazz beat the Spurs by 4!) Anyway, after we got the calves fed, I asked my girls if they wanted to go eat at Big J's or get ice cream at Caspers. None of them had any interest. I was a little surprised thinking I was being so nice to offer to do something special. I asked them what it was they wanted to do. Rachel said, " I was just hoping we could just hang out with you and do stuff Kyle and Dad don't like to do." I'm glad she wants to "hang out" with me. Kaitlyn had been begging me all day to paint a board. (Kyle had painted a board for a school project.) I kept putting her off, but tonight she and Hannah painted a 2X4. And guess what they gave it to me. Now I just have to find something to do with it. We practiced Rachel's spelling words and Multiplication tables, made brownies, and got the girls in the bath. I know that might not sound as fun as going to the Jazz game, but I didn't wish for one second that I was anywhere else.

B for Baby

Kaitlyn had to tape letters of the alphabet to things around the house that started with that letter.
Trevor got the B for Baby brother.

Kyle gets to use his sled!

It finally snowed. Kyle has been waiting to use the sled he got for Christmas.
He stayed outside for long enough that his gloves got cold and wet. He was not ready to be done so he put on Rachel's pink gloves and went back outside.

Trevor the Terror?

I took Trevor to Rachel's class last Friday for show and tell. One of the kids in her class asked her if he was a terror. She said, "Well sometimes he bites my finger and pulls my hair." Kaitlyn would add that sometimes he eats homework if it is left anywhere on the floor. THis picture was taken the day after CHristmas. Durring FAmily prayer, Trevor rolled over to the tree and managed to get the ribbon and an ornament and rolled away, getting talgled in the ribbon. Does he look innocent. I sure think he does. I would not classify Trevor as a terror. I guess he has his moments, but for the most part he is very pleasant and he is so darn cute!

National Farm Bureau Convention in Salt Lake

Garrick, Trevor, and I went to the FB convention on Saturday and Sunday. We had a State Young Farmers and Ranchers Committee meeting on Saturday, then that night we went to a FB sponsored Bulls Only Rodeo at an indoor arena in Toelle. I had never been to TOelle, so that was an interesting 40 minute drive. Trevor did not really enjoy the Rodeo, so we did not stay for all of it. Garrick enjoyed it, and we had great seats. We ended up staying in the Grand America, because they did not have room in the Little AMerica. WE are not complaining, because that is one nice hotel. Nicer than any place we have ever stayed. Then on SUnday we watched Greg compete in the Discussion Meet. He did awsome, but one thing we have learned about the discussion meet is that it is based on about half ability and the other half luck. It was fun to spend the day with Mom, Dad, Care, Carter, Gwen adn Greg.

Each January for the past 3 years I have had the kids answer some questions about teh past year and what they want to accomplish in the coming year. I thought it might be fun to share some of their answers.

The funnest thing about doing this each year is looking back at what they put the previous year and see how they have changed. They also like to know that they reached thier goals for the year.

Kyle's Christmas

Kyle got a BB gun from Santa. I guess it is good that it is something he has to do with his dad. He also got a sled from Kaitlyn, but we have not had any snow yet to try it out on. One of his favorite toys has been the nintendo game Jenn and Brandon gave him. He continues to find ways to get to the next level.

Christmas Morning!

On Christmas morning, Kyle and I put together the highchair that CeCille gave Trevor for Christmas. I was very impressed with our ability to follow the instructions. It helped pass the time while we waited for Garrick to get done milking so we could go upstairs and see what Santa brought. Garrick was fast, and Anthony helped him, so he was in the house by 8:05. THe kids woke up about 6:30, so it was not as long as I thought it might be.

Welcome Home Brandon

Brandon came home from Thailand on December 29th. We had a fun weekend with him and the rest of the family. My family surprised me with a birthday party while we were waiting for Brandon Friday night. I turned 30!

We played basketball at the church. Tyler, Trey, and Kyle looked the part.

We went swimming at the hotel and the water was so warm everyone enjoyed it-especially Trevor.
