Fun in the Sun in Sun Valley!

Swimming was our favorite thing to do!

WHen we went to ride the ski lift on TUesday evening, it had already closed. WE got some cute pictures anyway.

We came back Wednesday morning before we went home to try it again.

This time we came without the twins and Emma and Aspen. Grandma stayed at the condo to tend. It was probably good, because this was a half hour ride each way, and Trevor did get a little bit restless. Rachel and I sang songs with him the whole way back down the mountain.

Tuesday morning we ran a 5K. It was not a full 5 Kilometers, but it had lots of hills, so it was hard enough for me. But it was a good accomplishment for me. This was my very first race or any kind of running publicly. It was not a pretty site, but I finished!

Trevor woke up just before I left to run, so Garrick brought Trevor and Aspen to watch our 6:30 am race!
Just outside our Condo there was a pond with the most beautiful scenery. The kids had fun floating "boats" (made of leaves or twigs) down the little stream. Trevor even floated his tractor down the stream, never to be seen again. We got some cute pictures in the beautiful scenery.

Bye Bye Blue Van

On our way to Sun Valley on Monday June 30th, our van died. It seemed to be working fine. We stopped in Shoshone to fill up with gas. I had been driving, but Garrick decided to drive that last hour, we started on our last leg of the journey and didn't make it 10 minutes before Kaitlyn threw up in the back seat. We stopped and I got it all cleaned up as best I could. When we started going again, the van seemed to have trouble shifting. When we were about 20 minutes past Shoshone Garrick passed a car, and then the engine died. WE were lucky to be able to coast to a driveway where we could at least get the kids out of the hot car. Garrick called his mom, who was already in Sun Valley and she came to rescue us. It was about a 40 minute drive. We then piled everything out of the van, and a few cars stopped to see if they could help. WE called a tow truck to come pick up the van, and waited.

WE had this van for eight years. It had 220,000 miles on it and never gave us any major problems. Except for the sliding door that didn't open for about two years. Garrick actually got that working the week before! We also had new tires put on it and renewed registration that week before. The thing that was bothering me the most was that we had just filled up in Shoshone!

It was the only van our kids really ever knew. Rachel was almost 2 and Kyle was almost 1 when we got it. It was a good van, but we have all adapted quite easily to our new one!

Disbelief-We won't make it for BINGO!

Kaitlyn threw up one more time when we were pulling off the road. I guess it doesn't really matter now. I didn't ever get that cleaned up very well!

Trevor was just so happy to get out of the van and dig in the dirt and the rocks.

It was not the best timing, but we were lucky to have family to help us get to Sun Valley and back.
