Eating at Golden Corral

Kyle had a certificate for a free meal at Golden Corral that he got from school. He had been telling us ever since he found out Rachel and Kaitlyn were leaving that we needed to go while they were away. Better deal for us too, so we don't have to pay for them to eat there. This is Kyle's favorite place to eat, but he gets so full that he can hardly walk out to the car. I guess he gets that from his dad.

More Swimming Fun

The fun thing about this place for swimming lessons is that we can stay after and swim in the pools outside. It was not the best time for Trevor, because it was his nap time, but Hannah loved the little 2ft pool. Rachel and Kyle loved the Hot Tub and Kaitlyn liked to play with Hannah in the little pool.Kaitlyn started really improving the last two days of swimming lessons. She attributes to the swimming suite she was wearing. If we had only known she had a lucky swimming suit she might be able to swim now.
Kyle. He asked me the other day if he could wear his goggles when he gets baptized. I just laughed. One of my friends said that it probably is not stated in any of the handbooks or guidelines that someone could not wear goggles. I said that is because no one else thought of it.
Hannah was verry patient watching the others lessons, waiting for her turn to get in.
Rachel can really swim. I am so impressed with her effort this year.

Swimming Lessons

Kyle, Kaitlyn, and Rachel practicing the front stroke arm movements.
Rachel jumping in- I didn't know such a skinny girl could make such a big splash.
Kaitlyn always held tight to her teacher.
Kyle jumped in-this must be after the splash.
Trevor found something to keep his mind off trying to find a way to run to the pools edge.

We Miss Rachel and Kaitlyn

Rachel and Kaitlyn are at my mom's house for the week. I know that they are not missing us yet, but I do miss them. Hannah does too. Yesterday morning Hannah woke up crying. I asked her what was wrong and she said, "I want Rachel and Kaitlyn." I missed them especially this morning when we were feeding calves. Five new calves were born since last night. Trevor was not content to stay in his stroller, so I let him get down. That was a mistake, because one of the first things he got into was calf poop. YUCK. I realized that I usually have someone around to grab him before he gets into things like that. Kyle was milking, and Hannah has a hard time stopping Trevor. Anyway, we got him washed up, and I got him interested in something else. I got back in the pen to feed one of the five new calves and Hannah said she needed to go to the bathroom. She can't open the door to the house so I had to get back out of the pen and open the door for her. This is another one of those things that Rachel and Kaitlyn do numerous times a day. I think I will spend some time teaching Hannah to open the door. Well, I was then able to get a couple more calves fed before Trevor found the poop again. When we finally finished feeding the new calves, we went to feed the calves behind the commodity shed. I thought Trevor would be fine just following me back there as I just had to pour milk into these 11 calves buckets (yes Rachel and Kaitlyn I taught the rest of those to drink out of buckets). I was wrong, this is close to where the barn water and wet manure drain, and of course that is where Trevor headed first. I had to have Kyle come hold onto Trevor kicking and screaming while I finished. So Girls I will admit that I might have taken for granted some of the things you do around here. Even if it sometimes seems like all you are doing is pushing Trevor around in the stroller while I feed the calves. That is actually helping a lot more than I might have realized.

I also miss my dishwasher emptier (Kaitlyn) and my bathroom cleaner (Rachel). Although I am noticing that we have not been having to run the dishwasher as often, and there must be only half the laundry to do.

We love our Dad!

Emma and Aspen

CeCille was determined to get a good picture of Emma all night, but we could never get her to smile when the camera was out. Aspen was a little more cooperative. What a cutie!

Hall Family get together

Saturday night all the Halls got together for dinner, because Garr and Karolee (GArrick's aunt and uncle) will soon be leaving on a mission. Someone decided this would be a great time to have a family picture taken. With so many people, I'm sure they did not expect to get everyone-and they didn't. Rob was out of town, so they were not there and ANthony had some bishop things that came up. I think there were a few other's missing too. I think its good they had way more than half the family there. WHen it finally came time for the picture, HAnnah was fast asleep. I just propped her up on my lap (see picture in next post). Trevor was not happy at all about having to sit still, so it will be a funny picture to say the least. We did try to get a picture of our little family, but as you can see (next post) it was not meant to be that night. Jenn and Brandon are very popular and very photogenic.

Kaitlyn's Kindergarten Graduation

Kaitlyn was an awesome Kindergartner. She knew how to read before she even started Kindergarten, so she had some confidence starting out. She was always in the top reading group and she knew she was the best reader in the class. That is until two months ago when the Principal's daughter Addy Baker moved in. Addy was amazed that Addy could read the yellow books with ease. Kaitlyn's group were on the orange books. So the other day Kaitlyn and I were being interviewed for an infomercial for the lady that taught Kaitlyn to read. At one point they asked Kaitlyn, " are you the best reader in your class?" She responded, "The second best." Kids can be soo honest.

The five Kindergartner's from Cove. Kaitlyn, Cassidy Sadler, Tegan Ward, Jared Hougaard, and Brice Christensen. These five kids rode the bus home together after school-just the five of them. It seems like they ought to get a minivan or something that uses less gas than a bus, but oh well.
