Kyle passed 1st Grade!

OK its time for his mom to brag a little bit. We got the results of Kyle's end of year tests back. He can read 152 words per minute and the vocabulary test graph only went up to 70 and Kyle scored 80. He loves to read, and has decided to start the Harry Potter books. This is the first time in a really long time, Kyle has let me read with him. Rachel, Kyle, and I are all enjoying the Sorcerer's Stone book.
I have told many of you that Kyle reads the newspaper nearly every morning. Is that a normal thing for a first grader to like to do? I don't even like to read the newspaper. Anyway he takes after his dad, because he reads it while he eats breakfast. He doesn't read the whole thing of course, but he always checks the weather, and then he looks at the sports section. When the Jazz were playing he would read any articles about the Jazz and look at the stats.

This is a picture I was able to hurry and get after church last week before Kyle changed out of his Sunday clothes. See, he usually runs home from the church and is changed before the rest of us even get home.

This was at Kyle's first grade program. He tried really hard not to sing the songs, but quite often we could see him singing along.

A first-grader reading the newspaper? Normal? I don't think so! What a great reader! And fast!
